Mainstage Auditions for our 2016-2017 Season:

Note: All Audition Times and Locations are 7-9 PM at Theatre Atchison. You do not have to be the exact age of the characters, just able to play that age. No prior acting experience necessary.

  • Black Comedy:
    Auditions: April 4 & 5; Performances: June 2-4, 9-11

    Director: Wendy Thompson

    Roles: 5 men and 3 women
    Age Range: Twenties to Adult & Senior Citizen

    Character List:

    BRINDSLEY MILLER, a young sculptor
    CAROL MELKETT, Brindsley's fiancee
    MISS FURNIVAL, a middle-aged lady. Prissy and refined
    COLONEL MELKETT, Carol's commanding father
    HAROLD GORRINGE, the bachelor owner of an antique-china shop, Brindsley's neighbor
    SCHUPPANZIGH, a German refugee, electrician
    CLEA, Brindsley's ex-mistress.
    GEORG BAMBERGER, an elderly millionaire art collector

    Theatre Atchison equally values our roles as both community and theatre. If you are not called to be on stage (yet!), we invite you and your family to join us in a variety of activities that make up community theatre. Let us know your talents. Don’t worry - we’ll find a place for you to contribute! Some of our volunteer opportunities include:

    • Ushers
    • Actors
    • Assisting backstage during youth shows
    • Assisting backstage with main stage shows
    • Props coordinators
    • Set builders and painters
    • Set up and clean up for events
    • Landscaping maintenance
    • Distribution of posters and table toppers
